Causes of Loss of Voice and Flu

You also may cough or feel an urge to clear your throat, especially if your condition is caused by a virus or other infection.
You can restore your voice in different ways below:
  • Increase the intake of fluids to help the flow of mucus. Ensure you drink pleanty of water, keep your throat lubricated (cough sweets..etc). Avoid caffeine, which actually can make your body dehydrated.
  • Avoid antihistamines and analgesics drugs (such as ibuprofen and aspirin).
  • Avoid cleaning the throat as often as possible, because it can irritate the larynx (larings) and swelling of the vocal cords.
  • less talk.
  • If you have the flu.. it’s best to stay in bed. The flu is quite serious, although a lot of people don’t realise it. Unless you’ve got a bad cold
  • Boost your immune system anyway, as both of these conditions are viral. Take some Vitamin C tablets – Ecinachea take one every day for a month then one month on.

Once again Lots and lots of water.. seriously, it sounds weird, but it’s true. The good news is that if you think you’ve lost your voice, chances are you haven’t really lost it. What’s more likely is that you have some degree of hoarseness, and there’s plenty of help for that.
If loss voice problems persist longer than two weeks after getting ill or you lose your voice after an accident or injury to your head or neck and if you suddenly lose your voice for no apparent reason, see a doctor immediately.
